Junkie’s Jungle was built around an old brick fountain in Old Paradise Gardens, Vauxhall. The fountain went in during 1986, stopped working at some point after that, and its disused state is what made the spot.
Lambeth Council’s Vauxhall Parks Study of December 2012 already recorded the fountain as dilapidated and non operational, and listed it as a Priority 1 item for replacement in the council’s masterplan. The fountain was the spot, so when it went, the spot went with it.
It was part of the SB Spesh 1 route.
